Alphonse "Scarface" Capone, the celebrity gangster who became boss of the Chicago Mob at the age of 26. He and his gang were responsible for thousands of murders including the infamous St. Valentines Day Massacre. The IRS, eventually, caught up with him and put him away for 11 years on Tax Evasion. He was released from prison in 1939 due to illness brought about by syphilis, he died on January 25th, 1947. |

Charles "Lucky" Luciano, founder of the National Crime Syndicate and organizer of La Cosa Nostra, was born in Sicily and came to America as an immigrant. He was at one time the most powerful man in the Underworld. His interests included gambling and prostitution, the latter of which had been his interest since his teens. In 1935, D.A Thomas Dewey brought him in on 90 counts of prostitution. He was deported to Italy from where he continued to control the Mob. He died in 1962 in Naples Airport of a so-called heart-attack. |

Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel was one of the first mobmen involved in the development of Las Vegas. In the '30s, after doing a hit on Joe Masseria for Luciano and his gang, he and Meyer former Murder Inc. As a result of his hit-career, Bugsy was forced to head out to the West-coast. In the '40s, he opened a classy casino/hotel named Flamingo from the Syndicate money. When the cash didn't reach Luciano, he realized that Siegel was skimming and on June 20, 1947, Bugsy was murdered. |

Meyer Lansky was one of the masterminds behind the creation of La Cosa Nostra and the National Crime Commision. Meyer was one of a few Jewish mobsters associated with the Mafia. Lansky, Bugsy and Luciano became friends as teenagers after an awkward introduction. A few years later, Luciano approached Meyer with plans to form a National Crime Syndicate. Lansky was probably one of the longest living mobsters from the Luciano-era. He died of a heart attack in 1983, with a fortune worth over $400 million. |
