Team History: | Owner Notes: | |
The
Nora Fighting Pygmy Shrews have enjoyed a good deal of success in
league play. The Shrews have qualified for the playoffs with
regularity, and have won multiple Interstate Bowls. The team’s
yearly success can be viewed here.
Team Nostalgia: Drafting at the end of the first round/start of the second round of the initial IFFL draft, the Nora Fighting Pygmy Shrews selected “Fragile” Fred Taylor and “Smokin’” Ricky Williams. |

Notes: Nora’s fame has rightly achieved cult-status in manyvenues across the country. In addition to the Shrews, Nora boasts former mayor, police chief, sanitation supervisor, and dog-catcher Lyndall Bargen (a legend in his own right). Check here to learn more about the fascinating home of the Nora Fighting Pygmy Shrews. |
Coach
Bargen is the latest high-profile sports figure to be suspected of
involvement in the BALCO steroid-ring scandal. But instead of
distributing the materials to his players, investigators allege that
Bargen has been using the steroids himself. They point to the
fact that his body weight has ballooned to nearly 167 pounds on his
6’6” frame, while his body fat numbers are actually negative. The
investigation is ongoing.
