Hickman Hillbillies
PAN-AMERICAN CONFERENCE

Team History:
Owner Notes:
The Hickman franchise struggled mightily in its early years (originally as the Maine Fighting Lobsters).  The Hillbillies missed the playoffs the first six years of the team’s existence (a streak topped only by Coach Foss of the now-defunct Nebraska franchise).  But in their 7th season, the Hillbillies finally broke through and made the IFFL playoffs.  Throughout the years, the Hillbillies have had an uncanny nack for winning the Toilet Bowl championship.  A quick rundown of the team’s year-by-year on-field history can be found here.

Team Nostalgia:
The first draft pick for the Hickman franchise was Mark Brunell, QB.

Hometown Notes:

Thanks to a typographical error (and some would say just plain, dumb luck) what was to be “Heckman” ultimately became “Hickman” and the Hillbilly franchise has done its part to live up to the name.  The Hillbillies are concerned that Hickman’s robust growth will threaten the “hick” image that is part and parcel with the Hillbilly brand.  To learn more than you ever wanted to know about Hickman, check here.

use any tool at his disposal to get his players to perform at their peak.  This includes the employing of street thugs to intimidate and beat up the families of players who don’t play up to the coach’s expectations.  These thugs are commonly known around Hillbilly camp as “Hood’s hoods.”

  • Coach Hood’s trading card is the fastest-selling IFFL card in the Midwest.  This is related mainly to the Hillbillies’ regional appeal, and the fact that Coach Hood threatened to “whack” any distributor who didn’t sell their quota of Hood cards.
