December 1, 2002 Update
By Theresa :)

Happy Holidays! Well, this past week we celebrated Thanksgiving, marking my official beginning of the Holiday Season! Yay! No longer can Jamie tell me it’s to early to sing Christmas carols or buy Christmas presents! This is a wonderful and exciting time of the year. :)

I decided to take vacation Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week since both Jamie and I had Thursday and Friday off as holidays. This was a VERY welcomed week off with the kids! Unfortunately, the Thursday before, Leanne came down with the flu – Then I was under the weather on Saturday and Jamie was under the weather on Sunday. (Claire got it on Tuesday and Wedensday of Thanksgiving week) Needless to say, Jamie and I both bounced back quickly since we weren’t hit as hard as Leanne with the flu. Kinda a bummer to the beginning of my week vacation! Leanne was still a bit under the weather on Monday, but has been able to bounce back fully throughout the week.

What to do on vacation??!!! There never seems to be a lack of things to do! The kids and I decided to go and spend a night at my Mom and Dad’s during the week off. We drove up to Amery Monday morning and returned on Tuesday around noon. We had lots of fun visiting Gram and Papa and making a TON of cookies! Claire brought her friend Anna up with us – they were kept busy making crafts and visiting Johnson Drug with Papa.

Tuesday late afternoon was Claire’s parent-teacher conferences. She’s done very well in school this year - We can definitely NOT complain a bit! Come January, she will be taking basketball for a quarter in school and still studying flute for band. She’s still so enjoying school - it’s so fun to see…:)

Tuesday evening we got the call that Gram had come down with the flu and that Thanksgiving probably wouldn’t be held on Thursday in Amery (as traditionally done before). Gram says that we didn’t give her the flu when we were there on Monday, but it seems a bit coincidental if we didn’t! Then Grampa came down with the flu on Wednesday – Thanksgiving would be moved to Saturday so that everyone was feeling well enough to celebrate!

Claire spent Thanksgiving with her Dad and I made hotdishes galore so that we had plenty to eat on both Thursday and Friday. Thursday was a VERY lazy day – Friday morning Theresa and Claire got up at 4:50am to be at Sharon’s by 5:45am to do our traditional day-after-Thanksgiving shopping! We had a great time and were home by 9:30am.

Saturday we went to Amery to celebrate Thanksgiving (and eat turkey!!!!!!) We received much blessed news that my sister Carrie and her husband Terry are in the adoption process!! Carrie says that we can’t get too excited yet – she’ll let us know when we can. :)

Make sure to go see the new pictures! There’s some really cute ones of Claire and Jenna (Sharon’s newest), and Leanne and her newest habit (picking the fuzz out of her toes!).

Hope everyone is well!
