Hockey has a great international tradition. It is featured in the Winter Olympics, and also has many major tournaments of its own sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). NHL players have also competed internationally in the several different tournaments including the Canada Cup, the World Cup of Hockey, and the Canada-USSR Summit Series.
