Long-suffering Wildcat fans are excited about the upcoming 1954
season. The Magnificent seven that return includes the likes of: Ralph
Kiner; Sid Gordon; Al Rosen; & Allie Reynolds. The Wildcats also broke
open the piggy bank as we head into 1954 and actually bid over $500 to try
and bring in some quality players and return this franchise to those
glory days of 1934. That year, they won the Western Division championship
over arch-rival Allentown and achieved at least fifteen minutes of fame
before losing four straight in the World Series to the Dead Sox. To
remember that wonderful season, Hammerin' Hank Greenberg has been voted
the all-time franchise M.V.P. for his fantastic effort.
