HISTORY
Billerica United Soccer Club is a soccer organization located in Billerica, Massachusetts. It was established in 1972, as one of the first youth soccer programs in Massachusetts.
Beginning in spring 1999, United joined forces with Burlington Youth Soccer in the Under-19 age group. The United Under-19 girls played under the Burlington Youth Soccer colors and competed in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League. The team won the Middlesex League Championship and advanced to the State Semi-Finals. They also were awarded the Massachusetts Sportsmanship Award during the State Tournament, which reflects the club's commitment to the values of character, attitude, teamwork, and fun.
In the past, Billerica United youth teams participated each spring in the Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League, entering teams primarily in the Under-19 age group. United teams consistently placed among the top teams in the Under-19 Boys and Girls age divisions.
The United Girls Under-19 team had a stellar run of 3 consecutive undefeated seasons from 1996-1998. The girls made it to the State Finals in 1998 and advanced to the State Semi-Finals in 1996 and 1997.
The United Boys Under-19 team had an impressive run of 4 consecutive undefeated seasons from 1991-1994, including a State Finals run in 1993.
All youth players and coaches are affiliated with USYSA and MYSA.
In addition to sponsoring youth teams, Billerica United also began to field adult coed teams during the summer and fall seasons starting in 1996. Adult coed teams compete in the Greater Boston Soccer League (GBSL). Continuing the fine tradition of the youth teams, the adult teams have also ranked among the top teams in the GBSL.
United qualified for the GBSL summer league playoffs in 1998 and 1999. They also advanced to the GBSL fall league championship game in 1999. For fall 1998, United participated in the Boston Ski and Sport adult fall league where they won the championship.
United coed teams are frequent participants each summer in the Beach Soccer Blast in New London, Connecticut. They can also be found during the winter months playing indoor soccer at the Dracut Sports Center in Dracut, Massachusetts.
