For original recordings, it's a three way tie between:
"Teaser", Tommy's first solo venture, "Private Eyes", his second, and "Bang",
his first with the James Gang.
Record all three of these (or any two) on a long playing tape and you'll have a fine
collection Tommy's varied and vast cabilities.
Compilations
-
Released after Tommy's death -
"The Ultimate", released by Geffen in '89, man, these guys really nailed it.
A fine collection of tunes from the earliest days with "Zephyr" and "Moxy",
to the last days with "Deep Purple".
"Deep Purple in Concert", released by
The King Biscuit Flour Hour, is from two live shows captured in 1976, just months before
Tommy died. It's cool, hear Tommy jam live!
"From the Archives,Vol.1" is the newly
created
T.B.Archives first release featuring unheard recordings.
A must for any Tommy fan! They have since released more CD's and
a tribute video. (see the next page)
