John Kimball, aka Johnny Lightning, is one of the great players associated with the Flying Deuces. John is ambidextrous, driving with either arm, throws awesome rollers and has a deadly, rifle-straight putt.

John is the holder of half a dozen course record low scores on the Deuces courses. John was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as 2-time world record holder for 2 man continuous Frisbee throwing, in 1976 (76 hours) & 1978 (100 hours). In 1986, John and his lucky mini-disc made it to the Wheel of Fortune, where he cruised to the finals and won a car!

As PDGA #2262, John didn't compete in many open tournaments. With the advent of the Amateur Championships, John entered at the Masters level. John finished 2nd in the 1992 Amateur Masters, and came back in 1993 to take first place and become National Amateur Masters Champion. John wrapped his amateur career with a National Amateur Doubles Championship in 1994 and World Amateur Masters Champion in 1995.

John subsequently had his picture featured on the cover of Jul/Aug 1994 issue of Disc Golf Journal with a biography cover story inside.

John currently lives in Elk Grove, CA with his wife Stephanie and two sons.
