*******Saturday Night Showdown Results for April 5, 1997*******

J.P. Blood was seen inspecting the ring before the night began. He seemed to be looking under the ring. Anyway, here we go.

SINGLES ACTION
------------------------
Diamond David Page w/Morgan vs. Assassin w/Lady

Diamond David Page continued with his great offense from his last match up with Hoonyow Dragon. Morgan accompanined him to the ring as always. The Assassin arrived with the rest of the House of Pain. Assassin started slow and DDP got the upper hand for a good portion of the match. However, Assassin came back with consecutive clotheslines and a great back body drop. Assassin then pounced on the fallen DDP and gave him a couple of boots to the head and went to the top rope. Assassin flew off the top, landing a spectacular moonsault on DDP for the win at 23:33.
WINNER: Assassin via moonsault at 23:33

Crippler Chris Rollins w/Krazy Kev Kowalski vs. Suicide

The Crippler and Suicide both fought with great intensity in this match up. Both men obviously hate one another and this was manifested in their match. The Crippler began by "stomping a mud hole" in Suicide before the bell and continued to beat on him. Suicide tried to fight back with a great swinging neck breaker but then missed a leg drop from the top. The Crippler took the opening and gave Suicide a flying head butt. He picked Suicide up and nearly clotheslined the poor guys head off! The Crippler then finished Suicide off with the for the win at 28:52.
WINNER: Crippler Chris Rollins via at 28:52.

TAG ACTION
------------------
WGA vs. Homicide/Brutality

The West German Alliance continued its dominance recently in the tag division. Homicide and Brutality looked a little rusty in their tag debut. Their tags were few and far between and they never really worked as a team. Boba and Helmut pounced on this fact and totally mauled them both. Between Jens Schmidt's cheap shots on the outside and the complete beating on the inside, it was no wonder that Homicide was pinned after the German Bringdown by Helmut at 17:31.
WINNERS: WGA via German Bringdown by Helmut at 17:31

The Eliminators vs. The Fighting Pollocks

The Eliminators totally mauled the Fighting Pollocks in this match. The Eliminators looked very polished and experienced in their official debut. They made quick work of the Fighting Pollocks, who did not put up much of a fight. Saturn hit Tommy Warsaw with the Saturnbomb but refused to cover him. Kronus then came in and they both executed the Total Elimination on Tommy Warsaw at 13:45.
WINNERS: The Eliminators via Total Elimination at 13:45

HANDICAP MATCH
----------------------------
Flying Hernanez Brothers vs. Big Daddy Pain

This was a great match from start to finish. BDP was assaulted from all angles by the high flying attack of the Flying Hernandez brothers, but he would not stay down. After repeated cover attempts by the Hernandez Brothers, one pulled off a moonsault and again tried to cover BDP but he could only get a 2 count. BDP then got up and started to clean house. He double clotheslined both Hernandez Brothers and gave them both elbow drops. He picked one up, threw him into the ropes, and powerslammed him to get the pin at 23:21.
WINNER: Big Daddy Pain via powerslam at 23:21

NO DQ MATCH
----------------------
Mancow vs. Ultimate Warrior

It's a good thing that this was a no DQ match because Mancow and UW brought out the plunder in full force. UW didn't even wait for the bell and hit Mancow with a lead pipe over the head which caused blood to come from Mancow's head. Mancow tried to fight back and wrestled the pipe away from UW. UW then got a chair but was hit with the pipe before he could use it. Mancow then picked up the chair and rolled UW into the ring. He hit UW repeatedly with the chair and stood on the turnbuckle to celebrate. UW was not out yet and he powerbombed Mancow off of the turnbuckle on to the chair. He then did a Gorilla Press/Splash combo on Mancow on to the chair for the pin at 28:48. The Extreme Warrior came down all smiles after the match with a garbage can in hand. He rushed the ring and nailed UW with the can to knock him out. He gave some more shots for good measure and left.
WINNER: Ultimate Warrior via Gorilla Press Splash at 28:48

CAGE MATCH
--------------------
"The Extreme Warrior" J.P. Blood vs. Big Flyboy Bryan

The Eliminators walked out with Blood and Perry Saturn brought a metal trash can with him that had a dent in it. He pointed to it and then pointed at Big Flyboy Bryan. The match got off to a quick start with a see-saw battle of power. Flyboy went up top and hit Blood with a flying double axe handle which stunned Blood. Flyboy ran for the door but Kronus held the door shut. Flyboy foolishly tried to scale the cage while Blood was getting up and recieved a face full of iron for his efforts. Blood pulled him off and set him up on the top rope. He then performed the Suicide Crash, belly to belly superplex, and left Flyboy in the center of the ring. Blood walked out the door and got the win at 24:12. After his hand was raised, Blood and The Eliminators got back in the cage and beat on Flyboy with the trash can until he was out. Wildchild and Phenomenon came out from the back to save their friend but were held off with the trash can. Saturn pointed to the tag belts and then pointed to the trash can. After that, the group of Blood and Eliminators walked off. Flyboy was taken out on a stretcher afterwards and is in good condition. He is expected to be fine.
WINNER: "The Extreme Warrior" J.P. Blood via Suicide Crash and escape from cage at 24:12

TAG TITLE MATCH
----------------------------
Phenomenon vs. Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell are having some bad times righ t now, losing 2 straight coming into this match up. Heaven and Hell were manhandled in an easy win for the Phenomenon to retain the belts. Cade and Stone were in at the same time and double teamed Archangel for a period. Archangel double clotheslined them both and tagged in his partner. Grim Reaper could not get anything going however and Rebel Rick Stone powerslammed him off the ropes. Stone continued to choke him for the 5 count and let go. Grim Reaper was pretty much out when the Phenomenon executed the Double Destruction on him for the win at 28:49. After the match, The Eliminators came down from the entry way and rushed the ring. They were followed by Blood and his ever present trash can. The Eliminators pounded on Phenomenon and Blood chipped in with some trash can shots. Both Flyboy and Wildchild were at the hospital and could not help their teammates. The Eliminators executed the Total Elimination on both members of the Phenomenon and Blood suddenly pulled a ladder out from under the ring. The Eliminators set the ladder on top of the Phenomenon and executed a double leg drop on top of it. Blood then set up the ladder and Saturn connected with leg drops from the top of the ladder on both members. The group then left the ring, trash can and ladder in hand.
WINNERS: Phenomenon via Double Destruction at 28:49

HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
---------------------------------------------
Fury vs. Johnny Blaze

This was an easy title defense for Fury. He totally overpowered the young Johnny Blaze. Fury stayed with punches and head butts for the better part of the match. He executed consecutive elbow drops and a great leg drop. This man has pretty good agility for his size. Fury picked up Blaze and powerbombed him for the quick and easy pin at 10:12.
WINNER: Fury via powerbomb at 10:12

NEWS
-------
Another good card in my opinion. I urge all of you to use the email address list and create a mailing list. This will create less work for me and create more timely flashes for you. I know for sure that all AOL and Prodigy users have this ability and all others probably do to. I have accidently deleted the stats of the following people and need them: Archangel, Grim Reaper, Mancow, and Scoprio. If anyone has Microsoft Excel, I have a spreadsheet of stats and records in that format. This is only available for prodigy users however due to the fact that my mail doesn't support attachments outside of Prodigy. I will work on this and probably be able to send them out sometime in the future to everyone. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks again.
