Shannon O’Sullivan was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in July 1986, the youngest of five with four brothers. She was drawn to highly competitive sports like field hockey, racquetball and kick boxing. She took up boxing in her late teens after sparring with two of her brothers. She worked hard and had hoped to participate in the 2008 Olympics but women’s boxing did not receive recognition, maybe in 2012. She looks forward to joining the WEBA and is working hard to move up quickly.
Shannon boxes out of Holy Trinity Boxing Club in Belfast and is working on a degree in dentistry at Queen’s University in Belfast.
Shannon is 5’ 4” tall and weighs 121 pounds, red hair, green eyes, and just turned 22 years old.
