23 years old, Mónica grew up in a tough neighbourhood in Santiago. She learned quickly to fight to survive and to take everything she wanted, leading an all girls gang of thieves that was dismantled by the police.

After a short trip to prison, Monica trained in boxing with Manuel Soto, a very technical trainer who is like her father. "He saved my life, teaching me about boxing and life. Now I know that I must to fight hard to reach my goals in my life and as a boxer. Through boxing, I learned discipline, respect and to be responsable. I don't want to be a marginal delinquent anymore; I WILL BE A CHAMPION."
