Maria "The Hunter" Lozada was born in Cobija, Bolivia a tiny village way up north, right on the border of Brasil. When the town's rubber industry collapsed a half century ago, there was little future to offer anyone anymore. Maria's family have done and prepared the best for her, and wish her well as she leaves for her new life's adventure.

The 19 year old Maria possesses little more than an attitude and strong shoulders from years of manual labor from childhood. She was the second of two fighters to answer a nondescript advert in the local La Paz paper asking for interested parties to be trained for WEBA boxing under the tutelage of Balio Frez. Maria was the second to be interviewed and accepted. Balio will have her work cut out here. Now, just where to begin?
