Karen was a tomboy who enjoyed wresting and playing hockey with her brothers and learned to box while in high school. She fought a few times as an amateur and enjoyed the rush of being in the ring but didn't get serious about training until she saw the WEBA.  She's a construction worker now and wants to make enough money as a pro boxer to send herself back to school to become a physiotherapist.
