Kira Karpova is a tough brawler with a big punch and an aggressive attitude. She thinks Western girls are weak and lazy and plans to show them what real fighting is about. She grew up hungry, angry and tough and sees the WEBA as her ticket to a better life. You'd better get out of her way, or she'll knock you over, says trainer Sergei, adding "she is not greatest technical boxer, but she is effective and hard-working in ring. She get job done."

Kira made her WEBA debut on 11 December 2000 with an eight-round demolition of Puerto Rico's Crystal Ortiz. She said this was an easier fight than some of her sparring sessions in Nizhny Novgorod.
