Claire Freeman vs. Transam Lottaporn
Lottaporn batters Freeman to KO in Round 15
Transam Lottaporn believes in the bigger they come, the
harder they fall, so the 134-lb former kickboxer and bodyguard
for Mr. Wu wasn't fazed as she waited for the opening bell of her fight with
146-lb "Crazy Claire" Freeman.
Both came out swinging wildly but Claire landed the first solid punches.
Transam wobbled but didn't go down, and Claire got too cocky ... sticking her
chin out and daring the smaller fighter to hit it! The crowd
roared when Transam rocked Claire with two tremendous uppercuts
later ... and it was clear that the Thai champion was indeed ready to rumble
with the big American! They pounded on each
other in the second and third rounds, but both had problems finding the range
at times. Neither was shaken up or hurt despite steady, hard-hitting action.
Transam got the upper hand
early in the fourth and began to taunt Claire, but the American came
back strongly to dish out some punishment when
she trapped Transam in a corner. Transam has the big reputation for fighting
dirty, but it was Claire who tossed her rule book away late in this round
with a karate smash and a low blow.
They actually boxed in an uneventful fifth round that saw Claire land
the better shots, to murmurs of disapproval from the crowd. The club was
packed with fans who expected to see a rock'em sock'em war, not a boxing match!
But the sixth was a foul-filled brawl worthy of the Fighting Tigers
with both girls playing dirty as they traded shots and mauled each other
at close quarters. Claire got the better of it in the early going, but
Transam began to use her elbows, knees, and the top of her head as
weapons as the round went on. A legal combination to the body
dropped Claire to her knees late in the round ... she took a
long count on one knee to shake this off, then Transam sent her back to
her corner still hurting from another low blow and a head butt!
They traded evenly at the start of the seventh, then Transam
used more dirty tactics to get the upper hand. A head butt bloodied
Claire's nose, and the Thai champion went on to rough her
up with glove laces, throat punches, another head butt,
and an arm lock-and-twist move! Crazy Claire continued to plug away at
the champion, but she was getting roughed up at every opportunity
whenever they clinched!
Transam came out swinging in the eighth but couldn't line Claire up
and was missing wildly with many of her pounches. Claire coolly sniped away
and controlled the round, but she didn't have Transam in any trouble until
just before the bell. The ninth started the same way ... but it all
changed when Transam got Claire on the run after tagging her with a
right uppercut to the jaw. Crazy Claire was suddenly in big trouble as
Lottaporn drove her round the ring, missing with several haymakers, but
finally knocking Claire to the canvas for a nine count with a big right hook.
Claire got up looking wobbly, but bobbed, weaved, ducked and covered up to
frustrate Transam as the partisan crowd yelled for Wu's girl to deliver the
coup de grace! It didn't come, and Claire survived until the
bell.
Transam wanted more of Claire, but couldn't find the range again in
the tenth. The crowd got restive as Claire continued to frustrate the
local fighter. Claire took some punishment early in
the eleventh, then trapped Transam in a corner and
had her in big trouble with vicious hooks to the body late in the round.
The twelfth was evenly fought, and both dished out punishment
with the other against the ropes in the thirteenth.
Claire began to
get the upper hand in the fourteenth after she tagged Transam with a
hard left to the head. The champion was wobbly against the ropes, but
Claire couldn't put her away, and both girls looked weary as the
round ended.
Transam took a great combination to the head early
in the fifteenth and went to the canvas for an eight
count. She tried to tie Claire up when the action
resumed, but Claire kept plugging away and dropped her again
for a seven count with a right hook to the head. Claire now appeared
to be in charge as she continued to dish out punishment ... but
Transam went back to fighting dirty inside ...
holding and hitting, using her knee and head as weapons! Claire was
hurt by a knee lift, a head butt, a series of legal punches,
and an elbow to the face! A string of brutal uppercuts
sent Claire reeling against the ropes ... and she was hanging on
to them to stay up! Crazy Claire was wide open for two
swinging rights to the jaw ... and suddenly she was down on the
canvas! Claire's knees turned to jelly when she
tried to get off the canvas, and she was counted out as Transam
danced around the ring pumping her fists in the air!
Becca Heartman vs. Amber Taltos
Taltos wins bloody brawl in Round 9
Becca Heartman had challenged Amber Taltos to a grudge rematch after beating the
Puerto Rican bloody in their first bout ... only to be knocked out when
Amber got the upper hand in the final round. The "Heartbreaker" was
determined not to suffer the same fate again and she put enormous pressure
on Amber early in this fight. Becca drove Amber around the ring and
decked her with a huge right cross to the head. "Midnight" collapsed
on the canvas looking glassy-eyed and groggy, but she climbed back to her
feet at the seven count and survived until the bell. Amber recovered
well between rounds and they went toe to toe through a fast paced
second round that left both girls winded. Amber got the upper hand
early in the third, but Becca mounted a furious comeback after
taking a low blow to her trunks and she worked
Amber over mercilessly when she trapped her against the ropes. Amber
looked shaken up as she went to her corner, and Becca was smiling
maliciously between rounds.
Becca kept pressure on Amber early in the fourth but Amber made a
comeback later in the round and drew blood from the Texan's mouth.
Becca pulled out all the stops in the fifth and again trapped Amber
against the ropes. The Heartbreaker threw the rule book away and
treated Amber to a Muay Thai neck hold and knee lift, then grabbed her
hair as they wrestled in a clinch. Amber fought back hard, including
an elbow to Becca's stomach in another clinch. Becca had begun to taunt
Amber, daring her to hit her, and calling out to her across the ring
as they sat in their corners between rounds. The dirty fighting
continued in the fifth as Becca continued to use her elbows and
neck holds at close quarters while Amber dished it back with a
vicious right hook to Becca's throat. Amber finally got the better
of it when Becca taunted her by standing with her gloves down, daring
"Midnight: to hit her ... Amber obliged with a four-punch combination
that dropped Becca to her knees for a six count, but the round ended
soon afterwards.
Amber came out head-hunting in the seventh and landed a series of
massive blows, then a head butt, to Becca's mouth. Becca fought back
ferociously and decked Amber with a right uppercut. Amber got up at
the six count but was badly shaken up and spent most of the rest
of the round trying to tie Becca up. The round ended with great
action back and forth. Becca was
bleeding profusely from her mouth, Amber had a bad gash over
her right eye, which was closing up. The crowd cheered them both
on, as this donnybrook was obviously still up for grabs!
Becca pushed the action early in the eighth and landed several more
punishing shots to Amber's battered right eye. Both were now
covered in blood but still banging away hard. There was lots of
dirty work in the clinches as both used every weapon available to
intimidate the other. Amber got the upper hand late in the round
and decked Becca for a short count with an uppercut to the jaw.
Becca stormed out looking for revenge in the ninth, missed with her
opening swing, then grabbed Amber into a clinch and ripped a low
blow into her trunks. This started a close quarters brawl in which
Amber was backed into a corner and dropped to the canvas by a short
right hook to the head. Amber appeared to be in huge trouble as
Becca went to work on her, but she somehow kept her cool and
began to land solid counterpunches.
The tables turned when Amber stunned Becca with a hook and
two uppercuts ... the "Heartbreaker" stumbled and slipped to the canvas,
then was up at the seven count. It was now Amber's turn to throw the
book at Becca, who was quickly backed against the ropes. A series
of body shots brought Becca's gloves down, and Amber finally uncorked
a five-punch combination to the head that ended the fight ... with
Becca on all fours, again wondering what had hit her.
Taltos quickly asked Heartman if she'd had enough ... but Becca
defiantly challenged her to yet another rematch at Wu's!
Nadya Lebedeva vs. Tammy Quinton
Lebedeva breaks Quinton's jaw and KO's her in Round 6!
Russian sportswear model and jet setter Nadya Lebedeva took on Las
Vegas fitness instructor Tammy Quinton in what proved to be a brutal
battle. They traded power shots throughout a fast-paced first
round, with neither fighter getting the upper hand for long. Nadya
was bleeding a little from her mouth, but it was nothing serious.
Nadya got Tammy rattled early in the second and began to move her
round the ring. A hard-hitting flurry put Tammy on the ropes, then
on the canvas for a short count. Tammy got up quickly but then took
a ferocious beating before a hook to the body and a colossal
right to the jaw dropped her in a heap against the ropes. Tammy
struggled to beat the count, using the middle rope to pull herself up,
then took more punishment before the bell ended the round. Tammy's jaw had
been broken by the right cross that decked her the second time, but she
struggled on.
The Russian
dominated the third round and the fight became a test of Tammy's
ability to take punishment and stay on her feet. Quinton was knocked down
again in the third and went to her corner bloody-nosed and with a cut
under her rapidly-closing right eye.
Tammy hadn't given up and showed tremendous heart in
coming back to make a fight of it in the fourth. She worked her
way inside and pounded on Nadya's face with looping lefts and rights
with the crowd cheering her on for fighting back. Nadya fought back
in flurries but ended the round with blood streaming from her mouth
... and looking a lot less cocky.
Nadya was more aggressive in the fifth and soon had Tammy back
on defense. A huge left to Tammy's injured jaw put her down for
a nine count ... and the rest of the round turned into target practise
for the Russian. Tammy was soon in trouble again in the sixth, and
was decked by a monster right to the head. She got up with blood pouring
down the right side of her face and was quickly sent to the canvas again
by a savage hook to the body. She had no sooner struggled up at the six
count than she was knocked to the canvas once more. Tammy barely beat this
third count with help from the ring ropes, then stood wobbling in front of
Nadya, who sprang to the attack yet again. Tammy was almost defenseless
at this point, and when she was knocked down for the fourth time in the
same round, she took the final count on one knee, finally acknowledging
defeat.
