The Swell Guys are owned by Rich Thompson. The 2002 season was the first for this franchise. Owner Thompson, formerly "Draft Expert" Thompson, acquired the Corbys' Crew team from Owner Mark Ross after the 2001 season. The 2002 season saw an above .500 season for the new owner. The 2003 season saw improvement and the Swell Guys were in the hunt until the final week for the division title. The 2004 season also saw the Swell Guys in the hunt only to drop from the race in the last couple of weeks. In '05-'07 seasons the Swell Guys broke through winning division title but the league championship was just out of reach. The 2008 season was something new for the Swell Guys...LOSING. The team ended up under .500 for the first time ever and will have a very high draft pick in the 2009 draft.
