Owner: Ron Sauer

The Grimes Bombers entered the league in 1999 taking over for the bankrupt Kansas City Non-Athletics. Owner Ron Sauer was no newcomer to the league though, he had helped with the draft for the 1998 season. The Bombers started off very well in their first 3 years taking 2nd place in 2000. The 2001 season saw the team fall a little from grace. The Bombers recovered in 2002 to take the league championship but fell off again in 2003. The 2004 season saw the Bombers rise again to take the league championship. In the following 2 seasons the Bombers fell off again and then tried to rise from the ashes only to fall short in '06 & '07. The 2008 Bombers dropped back in the pack again but pitcher C Lee did bring the Flamethrower Award home.
