Touted by scouts as the next Pavel Bure, Samsonov will not be eligible for the NHL Entry Draft until 1997. Samsonov caught the NHL's attention as a 15-year-old during a tour of Canada with the Red Army juniors in 1994-95. The high-scoring winger currently plays CSKA Moscow of the CIS Inter-State League.
