Sergei Samsonov began getting press for his play at the age of
15. The young forward is already being touted as a top pick in
1997, drawing comparisons to NHLer Pat LaFontaine and a
young Sergei Makarov. Skating for CSKA Moscow in 1994-95, he
scored a goal in an exhibtition game against Russian-born NHLers.
