BARLOW: Well, maybe this will keep you interested until then! Folks, it's time for one of the hottest feuds going on in IFWF to come to a head, with the Television Title match between "Living Legend" Jean-Pierre Vachon and Lord Byron! REGENT: What's so great about this feud is that both of these guys are incredible athletes, and they're going at it not out of hate or fear but out of pride! They both want to prove they're the better man! BARLOW: And they've met once before to settle that score, but they went to the time limit! Tonight the usual fifteen minute TV title match has been changed to a twenty minute contest! REGENT: And they're going to use every second of it! BARLOW: Right now let's head back to Robert White in the locker room, he's standing by with the challenger for comments!!! WHITE: Thank you Tom, Lord Byron, earlier tonight we saw the comments from the "Living Legend" Jean-Pierre Vachon, and his return to the Player's Club. In a few short minutes you will be facing Vachon once again for the World Television Title, so I have to ask you, how does this turn of events affect your match? BYRON: To put it bluntly, not at all. WEST: Surely the presence of the other members of the Players Club in the arena must give you some cause for concern, especially considering the timing of the announcement... BYRON: No. You saw Vachon's comments to Haron Atkinson recently, and his request for the match. 'Any interference, on either part, and the match is declared null and void, with a rematch at the earliest opportunity.' Besides, I don't believe Vachon would resort to such measures. [Byron sneers] At least, not any more. The man wants to win this match just as badly as I do, Mr. White. He wants to prove me wrong when I say that he knows now he hasn't got what it takes. WEST: You'll also remember that he recently claimed that you're a great technical wrestler but that you don't have what it takes to put him away. Will we see any changes in your strategy tonight? BYRON: What you will see tonight, Mr. White, will be a match of pure wrestling ability. A contest of desire and will. And this time, there will be a winner. [Byron turns to leave, and pauses] One last thing, Mr. White. Haron Atkinson, keep your face out of my business. Or you may find that the [Byron sneers] 'Living Legend' and I may actually agree on something for once. And believe me, you would not like the results. Ciao. [Byron walks away.] WHITE: A very confident sounding Lord Byron, let's go up to Michael Pollard for the introductions! POLLARD: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!! THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL, WITH A TWENTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT, AND IS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL FANTASY WRESTLING FEDERATION TELEVISION TITLE!!!!! [Big pop from the crowd] INTRODUCING FIRST...THE CHALLENGER...FROM OXFORD, ENGLAND, WEIGHING IN AT 265 POUNDS... [Elgar's "Ride of the Valkyries" starts playing, to a major heel pop.] L O R D B Y R O N !!!! [Byron walks down the aisle with his trademark smirk on his face, pointing his cane menacingly at ringside fans. He is in his traditional ring attire. He steps through the ropes, and starts staring at the aisleway] BARLOW: I have to say I thought that the big announcement from Vachon and the Players' Club would throw Byron, but if anything it's just made him madder! REGENT: All the friends in the world won't help Jean-Pierre in the ring! He's on his own against Lord Byron, and if he can't cut it against his Lordship, that TV title won't be his much longer! POLLARD: AND HIS OPPONENT... FROM OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA...WEIGHING IN AT 256 POUNDS... THE IFWF WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION... " T H E L I V I N G L E G E N D " J E A N - P I E R R E V A C H O N !!! ["Ride of the Valkyries" fades out, and Bernstein's "Rise of the Magnificent Seven" starts playing. The fans start popping as Jean-Pierre Vachon walks down the aisle. He slaps five with the fans on the way to the ring, and when he enters, he hold the TV belt up to the crowd] BARLOW: And Vachon is all by himself! No Players' Club members in sight! REGENT: I told you, he wants to win this match on his own! No gimmicks, no psychology, just plain wrestling! BARLOW: And there's the bell, and both men are right in each other's face! REGENT: They're staring each other down, but nobody is budging! And Vachon with a shove! BARLOW: Byron with a slap! That certainly raised the ire of Vachon, and he charges at Byron! REGENT: But Byron ducks into the ropes, and the ref is holding Vachon back now! BARLOW: What cowardly tactics by Byron! But he's only hurting himself here, if this one goes to the time limit like the last one, Vachon keeps the belt. REGENT: Well I heard that Vachon didn't even want to give Byron a rematch. BARLOW: That's ridiculous! Vachon wanted this rematch as much as Byron did! He was about to finish Byron off when the bell rang anyway! REGENT: I disagree, Byron was ready to make his big finale! BARLOW: But in any case, these two are back in the ring, and if it's anything like their last match, I'll be watching anxiously! REGENT: Yeah, but we haven't seen much yet. There's a collar and elbow tie up. BARLOW: Each man trying to gain an advantage, and now it's Vachon with a whip to the ropes. REGENT: Byron comes back, and Vachon tries for a hiptoss. Blocked! BARLOW: And Byron turns around and unleashes a hard clothesline...which connects with nothing, as Vachon ducks out of the way! REGENT: Vachon now with a backdrop suplex! BARLOW: But Byron rolls over in mid air, and lands on his feet! Byron with a waistlock, drives Vachon into the ropes, and tries to roll him up! REGENT: But Vachon holds on to the ropes, and Byron goes falling backwards! BARLOW: But Byron keeps rolling with the fall, and is back to his feet! And both men are looking at each other with what looks like a little more respect. REGENT: But basically what we saw in these opening minutes was a whole lot of nothing. BARLOW: I suppose you could call it that, but I thought it was some great wrestling! REGENT: Yeah, whatever. BARLOW: OK, another lockup, and this time it's Vachon with an armdrag! REGENT: Finally, a move that actually worked on the other guy! Even if it is just an armdrag! BARLOW: Vachon quickly over to the other side, and locks a headlock on Byron! And after a bit of maneuvering, Byron is able to get back to his feet. Byron shoves Vachon off, into the ropes, Vachon comes back, a duck under by Byron. REGENT: And Vachon comes back, leapfrog by the champion. BARLOW: Vachon puts on the brakes, and Byron turns around, RIGHT INTO A SUPERKICK!!! That was right on the money!! REGENT: A cover! 1... 2... NO! Vachon trying to end things early here, but no luck. BARLOW: If either man wants a victory, they'll _have_ to move fast, considering what happened last time! REGENT: Both men back up now, and Vachon bodyslams Byron. And Vachon drops the leg! BARLOW: Vachon picks Byron up, sends him to the ropes, and a powerslam! REGENT: 1... 2... NO! Byron kicks out again! Vachon picks Byron up now, but Byron with a punch to the gut! BARLOW: That was a low blow, and you know it! AND BYRON WITH A DDT ON VACHON!!! THE COVER!!! 1... 2... NO! REGENT: He can't end the match yet either! But the tide has turned! BARLOW: Byron whips the champion into the ropes, Vachon comes back, and walks right into a dropkick! REGENT: Byron grabs Vachon's legs, and I don't know what move he was going for, but Vachon kicked him off. BARLOW: And Byron went into the corner... he comes reeling out of it, and Vachon sends him over with a monkey flip! REGENT: Byron is down, and now Vachon grabs Byron's legs! AND VACHON LOCKS ON THE FIGURE FOUR!!! BARLOW: Byron looks to be in pain here, but he's not about to quit! Vachon tries to get more leverage, but Byron is in the ropes and he breaks the hold! REGENT: Vachon probably has a bit of an advantage now, but the hold wasn't applied long enough to do much damage. REGENT And Byron is back to his feet. Vachon charges in, but Byron grabs the top rope and pulls it down! Vachon goes flying over to the outside! BARLOW: And Byron follows him out there. Byron grabs his head, and slams it into the ring apron! REGENT: He tries again, but it's blocked! And now Vachon slams Byron's head into the apron! BARLOW: And one more time for good measure! Listen to this crowd, solidly behind Vachon! REGENT: And Vachon with a whip to the ringpost! BARLOW: Reversed by Byron... and reversed again by Vachon! BYRON GOES SLAMMING INTO THE RINGPOST!!! REGENT: And Vachon with a drop kick to the back of the head, which sends Byron slamming back into it! BARLOW: Byron is tossed back into the ring now, and Vachon climbs onto the apron. And he starts climbing the turnbuckles. Vachon gaining his balance on the top rope! But Byron is up to his feet, and he wobbles right into the ropes! Vachon is in a lot of pain seated up top, and I don't know if Byron even knows what he did! REGENT: Apparently not, as he collapses back onto the mat! And now Vachon is slowly regaining his footing on the top rope! BARLOW: And Vachon with a big splash from way up high- MISSED!!! Byron was just able to roll out of the way! REGENT: And now both men are laid out on the mat! The referee is counting them out! This one could end in another draw, right here! BARLOW: 6... 7... Vachon is getting up, and so is Byron. Byron with a right hand... blocked! REGENT: And Vachon is firing back with a series of fists! Vachon whips Byron to the ropes, and ducks his head... BARLOW: BIG back body drop by Vachon! Byron gets up, but a kick to the midsection makes him double over! REGENT: And what a knee lift by Vachon! The Legend with a cover, 1... 2... kick out!!! BARLOW: Vachon is on fire now, as he sends Byron into the corner, and charges in after him with a splash! Byron stumbles out, AND VACHON WITH AN INVERTED ATOMIC DROP!!! REGENT: And Vachon follows up with a clothesline which makes Byron do a 360!!! BARLOW: Another cover! 1... 2... NO! Foot on the ropes by Byron! REGENT: That may have been the only thing that saved him that time! BARLOW: You may be right! Byron slowly to his feet now, Vachon makes a lunge for him, but Byron quickly ducks behind him! AND BYRON JUST BLASTED THE CHAMPION WITH A BACK BRAIN KICK!!! That took the momentum away from Vachon, as both men seem pretty spent about now! REGENT: But Byron is able to make it over to Vachon, and covers him! 1... 2... NO! Just barely gets the shoulder up! BARLOW: Byron is trying a series of fists to the face of Vachon! Another cover! 1... 2... NO! Byron tries again! 1... 2... NO! Kickout by the champ! BARLOW: And you can really tell that Byron is getting frustrated here! Both men are slowly coming back to a vertical base. REGENT: Byron whips Vachon to the ropes, but Vachon reverses it! BARLOW: Byron goes to the ropes, and a flying cross body block by Lord Byron! REGENT: But Vachon is able to hold him up!!! Vachon was able to catch him, AND VACHON WITH A FALLAWAY SLAM!!! BARLOW: Vachon giving the signal! HERE COMES THE LEGEND LOCKUP!!! (Modified Camel Clutch)!!!!!!! REGENT: AND HE HAS IT HOOKED IN!!! But Byron's too close to the ropes! Byron has a hold of the ropes! He has to break the hold! BARLOW: Vachon is a little slow in releasing it, the referee had started to count for a disqualification. REGENT: And now Vachon pulls Byron to the center of the ring, and he again goes to lock on the Legend Lockup. BARLOW: But Byron grabbed his arms and pulled them between Vachon's legs, causing Vachon to flip over! REGENT: And Byron picks Vachon up, and sends him to the ropes, Byron off the opposite ropes, and a jumping knee to the face of Vachon!!! BARLOW: The Living Legend is down! Byron picks him up- WOW! What a German suplex by Byron! AND HE'S SIGNALING FOR THE ARISTOCLUTCH!!! (combination STF and sleeper) REGENT: WAIT! The bell just rang! BARLOW: We're going to have another draw! REGENT: NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! POLLARD: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE TIME LIMIT IN THIS MATCHUP HAS EXPIRED, THEREFORE IT IS A DRAW!!! [There is a chorus of boos from the audience] HOWEVER, JEAN-PIERRE VACHON RETAINS HIS TELEVISION TITLE!!! [The fans cheer, as "Ride of the Magnificent Seven" starts up] BARLOW: And Byron leaves the ring in disgust, this was quite the turn around from their last match, eh? REGENT: Their first match may have been even, but I'll go on record and say that Byron had that match won! Five more minutes and the Television belt would have been his! BARLOW: No sign of Haron Atkinson, but again, nothing has been settled between these two great athletes! REGENT: For now, you mean! The Championship Committee is going to have to come up with a way for these two to settle the score! Because if they can't, Byron and Vachon are going to explode!
