Yeghpayer Arshak Boyajian a long time New York committee member died on Monday March 23, 1998 of cancer. The Homenetmen of New York family lost one of it's strongest and hardest working supporter.
Born 11/6/43 in Paris, France Arshak's family moved to Kirovakan, Armenian in 1946. There he stayed until 1981 when this time he brought his family to New York. Upon arriving to N.Y. Arshag immediatly joined the Homenetmen of New York chapter as a soccer player. Within a few years he was elected as a committee member which he served to the end. His duties included vice chairman, athletic director and scouting director in his many years as a committee member. However his true love was soccer, which he played until 1994 along with his son Vahe winning several league and Homenetmen championships. He is survived by his wife Anahid, children Lusine, Hermine and Vahe.
In his memory, the New York committee has renamed the "soccer player of the year trophy" as the Arshak Boyajian soccer player of the year Memorial Trophy".
