Tomorrow night's game against the Comets will be an ever-so-important game for the Hawks. If the Hawks lose this game, they will be mathematically eliminated from playoff action. Therefore, winning this game is essential if they want to get anywhere, and come out of the season with something positive.
The season series has been dominated thus far by the Comets, with them winning by the scores of 4-3, 5-3, and 5-2. Notice the pattern, the Comets have won the games by 1, then 2, then 3, and that is why I am predicting that the Comets win this game by the score of 7-1. Where do I get the 6 goal differential from? 3 + 2 + 1 = 6. Simple as that. The Hawks are going to have to pick up their game if they want to prove this prediction to be wrong.
The Comets coaches have got their team pumped up and ready for this game. Rumor around the league says that since their coach is a biker, he is taking his team out to the local bar to practice fighting. I don't know why they need to practice though, since the the Hawks bring no physical intimidation to the ice.
A second "plot", if you will, in this game is brewing. In the game we will see the fued between #3 Greg Klein and the Comet's #2, #10 and #16 continue. When these two teams faced each other in the 3rd game of the season (between the two teams, that is), the matchup came to an abrupt hault as Klein was tossed from the game for a very minor open-ice check from behind on #16. It was understandable though because #16 can't skate, and he's like 6'5" compared to Klein's 6'0". #2 on the Comets is about 6'2", so Klein is going to have to step up his physical game. The whole Hawks team hates #10 though so Klein won't have to worry about that.
There is an estimated crowd of 13 people at the Balfour Arena so it should be loud, which only makes the game more enjoyable! We will have the game conclusion 1 hour prior to the end of the game.
