The Tragically Hip (self-titled debut)

The Hip's first album (EP), released in 1987, was the first hint of what music fans could expect from the Hip. Obviously the band was young and the musical quality was only going to get better as the years went on. Although this album only has seven songs, there are a couple of catchy rock songs like "Last American Exit" and "Small Town Bringdown". The band's inexperience shows but that was the beginning of things to come. Their next release, "Up to Here" blasted onto the scene with classic hits that are tremendously popular today; "New Orleans is Sinking" is one of Canada's favorite songs to date.
