My Game 25 Report

Only 1 point for the shootout win

The Flash beat the Seals in the shootout after a 2-2 draw in regulation plus the 15 minute overtime period. The Flash now have 55 points. Nashville has 50 points, and two games left, so they *could* finish with 56, so the Flash haven't clinched the top spot in the Western Conference yet. But the Flash play the California Jaguars next at home. All we need is one point to get the top spot, since we already beat Nashville in the regular season. California may not be that easy a mark, as they beat Seattle 4-0 Sunday. And we beat California only 1-0 Friday. We still have a game next Sunday against Orange County, so we'll be sure to get our three points there! :-)

Here's the line at the USISL site about today's Flash-Seals game:

Jerome Watson tied the score in the 61st minute, then scored the deciding shootout goal. Clay Harty had a pair of goals to give the Seals a 2-0 first half lead.

So it looks like the Flash had to come from behind. But once again, they came through like champions. I hope everyone can come out this Friday to Southwestern College to see the Flash's final regular season game!
