The Flash beat the San Francisco Bay Seals 2-1 in front of 1,209 fans.
Sadly, this was the lowest attendance we've had in our short history. That number could have been higher by at least one, but I myself didn't go to the game! I'm not able to go to Sunday games, as I keep myself pretty busy. But I was able to make it home and hear the game on the radio. The Flash have a Spanish language affiliate that calls all the home games, 1550 AM, XEBG out of Tijuana. They have a weaker powered station, but I was able to get it. And the narrating was pretty good!
The first half ended 0-0, with the Flash apparently having more chances. As I began to listen, the Flash scored a goal, and the announcers were saying that it looked really good. But before the praise was over, San Francisco scored a quick one, to make it 1-1 less than two minutes later. But the Flash did get the winning goal later on, from Christian Escalera. Good for him! I thought he didn't have too great a game last Friday, so it was good that he could come through with a goal today!
Next game is this coming Friday, against the Milwaukee Rampage, defending A-League champs. They are coached by former national team coach Bob Gansler. They are in third place in the Central division, behind Nashville and Minnesota. Since we already beat Nashville on the road, I think our chances are good against Milwaukee here at home! Let's hope so. We've got a playoff spot, now the goal is to get the top seed in the Western Conference!
GO FLASH!!!!
