Flash stays hot on the road by beating Memphis with three second-half goals

Special to the Union-Tribune

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Humid it was, but the San Diego Flash was on fire in a 3-1 win over the Nashville Metros in A-League action Saturday in front of 1,247 at the Columbia Soccer Stadium.

The Flash (14-6), the Pacific Division leader, fell behind the Central Division-leading Metros (15-7) 1-0 early in the game.

But the Flash, which has won four straight road games, scored three unanswered goals: in the 50th minute on a penalty kick by Antonio Robles; in the 65th minute by La Jolla alum Jerome Watson on a Mauricio Alegre assist; in the 73rd minute by former San Diego Sockers standout Kevin Legg.

"We created a lot of chances for ourselves," Watson said. "In the second half, we kept our confidence, kept getting our chances and the goals came. I thought we played good, controlled ball."
