EL PASO -- Antonio Robles became the first Flash player to score a hat trick when he netted three goals in the team's 4-2 victory over the El Paso Patriots last night before 6,800 at the Socorro Activities Complex.
The Flash (13-6, 39 points) was down 2-0 at halftime against the Patriots (10-11, 24 points) but tied the game with a Robles penalty kick in the 65th minute and his diving header in the 80th minute.
Seven minutes later, forward Jerome Watson notched the game-winning goal. In the final three minutes, Robles secured his hat trick with his final goal in the 90th minute.
It was the Flash's first victory after being down at the 75th-minute mark. The club was previously 0-5 in such situations.
First-place San Diego increased its lead in the Pacific Division to five points over Orange County.
The Flash's next game is next Sunday against Nashville in Tennessee.
