Who is eligible for the minor league draft?

In order to be eligible for the minor league draft, a player must meet several conditions:

1. The player can't currently be on a CABL roster

2. The player cannot have made a plate appearance (for position players) or faced a batter (for pitchers) during the current MLB season. We usually establish a cutoff date of June 30 for this rule, so that any player appearing after June 30 would be eligible for the minor league draft.

3. The player must be under contract with a professional team. Recently drafted high school or college players who have not signed are not eligible. Players on the Cuban National Team are not eligible. Players in the Mexican or Japanese leagues are eligible.
