The Blackhawks started 4 years ago to offer a higher lervel of play for our kids.  We started as an 11-year-old team just playing in a summer league.  We had such a great time, we have spent lots of time trying to grow.  We registered as a club with NIHA and USA Hockey Inline and aquired a permit to use the Hockey facilities in Howell Township.  We are members of the Howell Sports Federation. The Blackhawks have run free clinics for the past three summers. The Blackhawks have played in the Continental Airlines Arena and the Core States Spectrum.  In 1998 our tournament teams played in events from Boston to Florida where we played in Disney World., Key West and Tampa Bay.  During 1998, we registered teams in 3 age groups in 15 roller hockey tournaments / age divisions in what we call The Blackhawks 1998 East Coast Tournament Tour.  Our Ice Hockey division has played in 3 tournaments including the Can-Am games in Lake Placid.  There is so many things we have done over the past four years we can't even begin to tell you about it all.  Look around the web page and see all we have done.

In 1998 we introduced our 17-U team. This team played in a four team division in Jackson and won their first championship in their first season. Unfortunately we were unable to defend this championship since the league folded in Jackson. Some day we might try it again.

Our first game of the season was a mess. Though we said we could not play because we didn't have enough players to field a team, Jackson still scheduled us for a game. We were given a forfeit for this game. After that forfeit, Jackson found us players and some of our on-again off-again players were on-again. Since we might have had enough players we decided to give it a shot. As it turned out we were that 4th team that saved the league from folding.

Our second game (first played) was a mess. We invited Frankie, Cody, and Jason to help. Victor and Danny were also invited, but had to come down after their confirmation. Come game time we had 16 players. Some of our on-again off-again players decided to show up. After submitting the roster, many of them stopped showing up, so we could not use some of the 12-U and 14-U's. Too bad, they really helped in this game. We won it 6 to 4 and they did not give up any goals.

QUANTUM LEAP TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
I did not see too many of the games and I don't know most of the names so this is a real sketchy review. We played the Nasty Boys. Long standing rivalries and new rivalries were forgrd in these wars with the Nasty Boys. Victor and Cody helped tonight since the team was short players. We had 9 skaters. It was a defensive struggle as we won the game by one goal. The play of the game had to be the save that Stu made late in the game on a breakaway. Stu made the best save we have seen him make to save the game with seconds left.

Our record was 6-3-1

The Blackhawks have purchased four season tickets for the Trenton Titans. The Titans are New Jerseys minor league ice hockey team in the prestigious East Coast Hockey League. We are making these seats available to our club members first. If you are interested in these seats let us know. Check out the information on them.
