Game 1 - Extreme 2 - Blackhawks 1
Close game. If you are going to win, you need to score more than a goal. We hustled and defensively we did all we had to do to win. The kids are quick to remind me, and I also hesitate to mention it, but we were very unhappy with the first goal the Extreme was credited with. The puck never went in the net, but the referee called a goal, then he called it off, then on and finally off again. The other referee skated in and told him that he should not change his mind and stick to the original call. Oh well. But the kids were wigging out so I guess I had to mention it. The Extreme have a good team so you do have to be careful against them. And every goal counts so...... Besides the referee's will make a bad call in our favor eventually and the kids will laugh it off then. And we will be even.

Game 2 - Blackhawks 7 - Flames 1
Great game. Lots of scoring chances. The Flames had a ton of penalties and we capitalized on them scoring a couple power play goals. After Eddie was cross checked after the whistle and no call was made, I told the kids it was time to make the Flames pay for trying to bang us around. And how do we do that. By putting the puck in the net normally. We did that a couple times, but what we really did to make them pay was, we set up some plays that really made them work. Lots of passing. Joe Trembley scored a beautiful goal and nearly had another one as it went just wide on a great shot. Billy had a couple...but I don't remember who else scored. Everyone was rotated through defense this week and they all played great. Mike was stellar in goal.

Game 3 - Blackhawks 4 - Roadrunners 4
Hello all. If you are reading this then obviously you read the WARNING page and have accepted the terms and conditions to get here. Remember to proceed with caution and at your own risk.

Billy started the scoring early as he scored 19 seconds into the game and Jordan gave us a 2-0 lead 3 minutes later. Knowing that the RR's can score with ease, we reminded the kids that they had to play harder now, because the RR's were gonna come back. And they did. They tied the score and eventually went ahead 3-2. Jordan tied it up for us with his second goal of the game. But the RR's took a 4-3 lead. By now we were playing short a defenseman when Tommy's helmet broke when a RR stick accidently wound up underneath it. We found ourselves in a position where we had to replace him on the rink while we tried to fix his helmet. And we never were able to fix it.

We sent Billy back on defense and we sent a play in with him. He started it brilliantly but when the play was broken, he carried the puck in and slammed it into the net to tie the score. Both teams struggled for the remainder of the game with neither team able to score the winning goal as we saw the game end in a tie.

Okay now for the commentary that so many of you are waiting for. This is to the parent in the stands that seemed to really want to bait any Blackhawk parent into an argument. "SIT DOWN AND GROW UP!" That is what one of our parents eventually told her and I loved that line the minute I heard it. It is just a shame that our parents have to be subjected to such rude behavior. If you have a comment about our coaching style, discuss it with us. If you have something to say about this web site E-MAIL ME. Don't harrass our parents. Or better yet, here is a novel idea STOP READING IT if you don't like what I say on it. And yes I admit I might be harsh on some people on this web site. But it is mine. And you know what, I NEVER strike first, but I definately strike back at anyone that attacks me or my team.

We really need to work on our power play. We had 7 power plays and did not score a goal on any of them. We did however kill off our one penalty. Wait a minute. Seven power plays and one penalty kill? Didn't some big mouth in the stands complain that Frank and Bill teach the Blackhawks to play dirty? Kinda funny to hear that after this game. In fact one of the dirty tactics we teach our kids is this. Lay on the ground and hit an opponents stick with your head. That is how we earned our seventh power play. (dripping with sarcasm) And lets not forget the score sheet from the RR and Extreme game...19 penalties. And wasn't there something about a fight in that game? Yeah, Okay we are a dirty team.....SIT DOWN AND GROW UP.

Game 4 - Extreme ? Blackhawks ?
I don't know the results of this game. I know we lost another close one. We were missing a ton of players. And I was in Las Vegas, so I have no clue what went on in this game.

Game 5 - Blackahawks 9 - Flames 2
We got an interesting call the night before this game. The Flames need to bring in substitute players to fill out the roster for this game since they were going to be short players. I was told either accept this or win by forfeit. Just like the game I gave the other team, our goalie, I accepted the challenge. And it looked scary at first as the Flames took a 2 to 1 lead. And the fill in players were prettyt good. But we finaly got things together and started scoring as Jordan and Billy kept lighting the lamp.

Game 6 - Roadrunners - Blackhawks
We did not play this game. Lots of players and coaches missing when we woke up on Saturday. We only had 7 skaters when we woke up. Bill was working, Ed was at a communion. Then my washing machine flooded the entire downstairs. As we struggled to clean it up another player called to say he could not make it (down to 6). With my wife screaming at me to help clean the flood, I had to skip the game leaving us with no coaches and 5 players. We called Allaire and canceled. I suppose it will be put in the books as a forfeit.

Game 9 - Semi final game

Wow. The roradrunners were fired up. They beat us 10-3. This is the first 12-U team I coached that did not make it to the championship game.

Game 10 - Blackhawks 12 - Flames 2

We wanted to end the season strong and we sure did. We stayed around to watch the championship game, which the roadrunners won. Congrats RR's.
