...This is my favourite quote when it comes to figure skating. It's what keeps me sane when judging and skating politics frustrate me. To me it means that a skater's worth to themselves should not change because they had a bad day on the ice, or an exceptional day on the ice, and also not because some judge liked one skater's style over anothers. If a skater can develop this type of philosophy, then they will be free from the fear of loosing and be able to express themselves and do their best, whatever that may be, on that day.

...Some skaters may have received this quote on a busines card attached to a stuffed animal or a Canadian Flag. This is my way of telling you that I enjoyed something about your skate and that you expressed you inner self through your skating and music. My favourite skaters all have this ability to express and accept themselves for who they are.
