Our season is over, be it from poor or biased judgements, or perhaps sheer twist of fate, our hopes of ending our 90 year World Series drought have been put on the shelf for yet another year.
But, Do not be disheartened Cubs fans!
Some would call us "chumps" or even "losers" as we continue to support our team though thier many hardships and disappointments, some would even go so far as to say that we don't understand baseball...
Friends, they are the ones who don't understand baseball. Baseball isn't about money and winning every game (although that's nice)
Baseball is about pride, honour, tradition. Things that make the game great. It's the smell of old leather, sweat, dirt, and cool grass, it's the sound of a crowd cheering on a Summer's afternoon. It's sitting in the bleachers surrounded by strangers who are your friends because you are sharing in America's pastime.
The Cubs are a team that still stands for all that is great about baseball...
we may not be the best in the game, but we know BASEBALL!
Thank you kindly.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I know Harry is watching every game from the best seats in the house, singing along with "take me out to the ballpark" ,and carrying Sammy's hits clear over the outfield walls with an angelic hand.
