The Golden Bear Makes Tracks!

April 1997 - The ABL completes it's inaugural season and announces the much anticipated plans for a ninth team in Long Beach, California. Your favorite Golden Bear and mine, Trisha Stafford, has been assigned by the league to the new team. Although I am sad to see her leave the San Jose Lasers - I know that she will have many more opportunities in Long Beach. Don't worry, Trish - your faithful Golden Bear fans will still be cheering for you!

August 1997 - It's official! The Golden Bear, Trisha Stafford, has signed a contract with the Long Beach StingRays. I will not disclose the amount, but needless to say - both Trisha and I were thinking about more $$$. As Trisha puts it,

"I'll be working hard for my money this season!"
