4. Mark Karver
Mark Karver is playing as second guard usually. He has a great shot from hald distance and from behind the three points line. Mark is very famous because of his habit to touch his ears 3 times before he shoots from the line (Penalty shots). He says it brings him good luck and it looks like he's right - Mark is a very good penalty shots shooter and he had last season the best precentage from the line. (96.4 %).
Mark came to the team from Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the 1995/1996 season and since then he became a very important player in the team. A year before he came to the team, while he was playing in Hapoel Tel-Aviv, he was the MVP in the game in Usishkin, Tel-Aviv, vs. Hapoel Galil Elyon (our ex. name). No wonder that Galil wanted him so bad...
The most Famous moment of Mark was the three points shot he scored last season vs. Plaven from Bulgaria in the EuroCup games. Galil was in a bad situation, at home, and needed to win the Bulgarians in 8 points lead. Mark put this amazing shot, 1 second to the end, while Plaven was leading by 3. Mark was fouled, but before he fall to the ground, he managed somehow, and don't ask me how, to shoot, and it entered! He missed the shot from the line and gave Galil an overtime, that was enough to achieve the 8 points lead. Galil won by 8, but didn't qualify to the next round because a lost of Benfica Lisbon in Skopje, Macedonia. However, The amazing shot of Mark, will be remembered by our fans forever.
