As you can see from the heading above, we are the Heathmont Baptist Hawks. There's nothing official about this. The committee didn't choose it. We think it was just a piece of convenient clip-art used by the bloke who did our publications, and it stuck. There have been murmurings of discontent about this, and why not? If you can be anything, why the hell would you be something as unoriginal as a hawk? If it has to be something starting with 'H', could it at least be a hamster?
So, we're asking you lot out there, just what should be the official nickname of the Heathmont Baptist Church Cricket Club? In the list box below you'll find some nicknames you can choose from, including 'Hawks', if you think the present name is just ginger peachy. And if you don't like any of the names, send us your own suggestion. 'Toss-pots' is not acceptable. |
So far we've had one suggestion, from the inimitable Wiggy. Of the available choices, he likes the 'Blackberries', but he says "It MUST begin with H, so I suggest Harbingers". For those of you who don't know what a 'harbinger' is, it's a forerunner or a pioneer. Grouse. |
