Ms. Mitchell's Note
 Our first assessment in History/Social Science went well and you should be receiving an "Assessment Card" on Monday stating  your child's performance.  Assessment Cards will be used for all major assessments and will be in your child's green folder.  If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to stop by or call!  Please note that I have attached the language arts homework to the newsletter and that the proper assignment needs to be turned in on the appropriate day!  We had quite a few problems this week with that.  Also, math homework is assigned out of the practice book your child brought home.

Curriculum and Projects
LANGUAGE ARTS
The students are gaining an excellent understanding of how a character's situation affects his decisions.  Ask them about Leigh!		 MATHEMATICS
We are back and forth in math between place value and properties of addition and subtraction.  Please work with your child as these are necessary concepts to master!
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will continue next week with latitude and longitude and another assessment!		 SCIENCE
The students told us everything they know about erosion, volcanoes, earthquakes and landslides.
