Well, it's a rather simple yet funny tale...
Once upon a time, not long after Jeff created his Cards Fan Central page, he sent out Netscape e-mails to other Cards web pagers from the computer lab at the school where he couldn't wait to graduate from. He did so to ask them to create links to his page in exchange for return links to their pages. However, he made one very humorous mistake.
He failed to uphold one of the key commandments of Netscape e-mail (particularly from a public computer):
Needless to say, Jeff did not follow this decree and sent forth his electronic messages. Several days later, he received a reply stating that a link to his Cards page had been added. Upon checking for himself, he learned that, lo and behold, the link was for Dr. Ruth's Cards Fan Central.
"How could this have happened?" Jeff complained. It was only after further review that he learned that a thoughtless and forgetful co-ed had put "Dr. Ruth Westheimer" and a bogus e-mail address in Netscape's "Mail and News Preferences" option. What a lucky break for me, ay?
Suffice it to say that I now have an ignominious monicker that belies not my personality, gender, nor sense of humor. Well...on second thought, it is kinda funny, isn't it?
