225. Reva Gladys Siver

From Perry Nelson Hill
John Siver pointed out that there was a conflict of the information about mothers date of bi th some record he has had Sept 10, 1909 While checking the family Bible I find listed the 10th and that the day of her death was not August the 4th as I have written but the correct date is August 8, 1951 So this day I am changing the record. Without finding my notes I guess the dates on the tombstone will also be incorrect. PNH

Chauncey Byron Hill

From Perry Nelson Hill
The family register in the old family bible I have shows marriage date of Jan. 23, 1925 thi s was my mother's bible given to her when she was Reva Siver and lived at Covert, Michigan.

June 26, 1994 I remember my dad as being very creative he could fix or make must any thi ng that he set his mind to. I remember on time he took the top part or gear box to an old was hing machine and made a drill press out of it. It worked pretty good. This gear box was the d river for the wringer rolls. In the old days 40 years ago the washing machine had a tub tha t washed the clothes, then you had to fish them out and put through the wringer to squeess th e water out. There was also a shift so that you could reverse the direction of the clothes. I n case you caught your hand or the clothes tangled you could back out of the problem. Any wa y Dad's dril press would go in either direction.

Uncle Chet said that when my Mom and Dad married they only lived about 1 mile apart one in Va nBuren County and Dad in Berrien County
The family register in the old family bible I have shows marriage date of Jan. 23, 1925 thi s was my mother's bible given to her when she was Reva Siver and lived at Covert, Michigan.

Aug 14, 1997 I have the Family Record of Mr. and Mrs. George Siver, and it has the Marriage d ate of Jan 23, 1925, so where I came up with a date of Jan 28, 1924 I do not know but I wil l make the correction. PNH

227. Lila Grace Siver

Its at these times that we have to stop and wonder why? Why did we all move all over the coun try?
We all did what we thought was necessary to provide for our families. For after all it is wr itten that we
shall cleave from our mother and father and live as one with our wife or husband.

We should not look with sadness at the passing of Lila Grace Siver/Harris, for now we hav e a new
angel in heaven, who will look out for us, and bring a new level of protection to us.

There is no doubt in my mind that she is in heaven to do what she did here on earth. Care fo r the
troubled, bring comfort to the sick, and be one of God's good angels.

We can all reflect on her way of living, giving of herself and not asking a thing in return . She never let a
handicap stand in her way to do good for others. Being blind would have made many of us run f or
cover and cry " why me"? Not Aunt Lila she went forward, adjusted to the problem, and with he r
teaching brought comfort to many of her friends and family.

So it is on this day in February the 8th, 1999 that the Lord chose to take Lila Grace Siver/H arris at 1:30
in the morning to be with him in heaven.

We should not be saddened by this event but rejoice that she has reached her goal, that being , to go to
heaven and serve the Lord. It is very hard to lose a parent, we have to let go and not figh t the will of
God. And it is his will that all material things shall pass, and we are but material, our spi rit having gone
ahead of us.

I am proud to have been her nephew.
