Freewheel'n - September, 2000

Commotion and emotions erupted in July after the last Freewheel'n was released. For those few that may not know, the club began an effort to purchase jerseys with a new fresh design. This project started early last year. After much delay, orders were finally taken and the design shown to the club. Unfortunately, for reasons not clear, a major price change of approximately $20 recently resulted. Believing that our members would understand, RePete expressed the opinion that those purchasing these jerseys should pay the revised price. This was expected to be discussed and voted upon at the upcoming August meeting. In a spirit of misdirected generosity, the decision was made prior to this meeting to continue the order at the new price and allow members that pre-ordered to pay either the original or the revised price. This not only selectively rewards a few at the expense of the many, but more importantly raises questions if correct parliamentary rules were followed. These issues will be examined in the next release of Quibbles scheduled for September. Your comments are most welcomed and will be included in a forthcoming Quote release. Meanwhile, as an expression of my objection, RePete will not be providing any food donations for the Devil Century nor will volunteer his services.

Lance Armstrong enjoyed another successful Tour de France winning for the second consecutive year. This accomplishment is great for our sport and for our country. Look in an upcoming Quibbles release to catch some of this excitement. Now Lance will participate in the Summer Olympics scheduled to begin in September! We wish him well in these competitions.

Say…the season is quickly ending and with that are RePete's final tours. You can check these out in
