RCW Rules Page
Royal Championship Wrestling

Here is a list of the rules and regulations of Royal Championship Wrestling. These rules have been instated to make you the player aware of all the boundaries in RCW.
Take a minute to read over them, and if you're okay with them, we invite you to fill out an application.

  1. ORIGINALITY PLEASE!!!

  2. This e-fed is for original wrestlers only! No real names or gimmicks! That includes nicknames and stables; personally I am sick to death of everybody and their grandmother being "Stone Cold" Something-Or-Other. I believe that all of you are capable of creating world-class wrestlers using your own imagination. Originality really counts; try to submit a character that no one's ever seen or heard before. The more unique and fresh he is, the better.
NOTE: Some special exceptions will be made if you use a wrestler's name, but DISTINCTLY change his image. In cases of very general nicknames (i.e., The Sandman, Demolition, Raven, etc.), if you can create an entirely different wrestler, you may be allowed to use the name. E-mail the Executives for details.

  3. Flashes

  4. In order to issue a challenge to another wrestler, or to accept a challenge, you must flash. Flashing is essentially roleplaying, i.e. having your wrestler talk about how bad he's going to beat his next opponent. It's recommended that you flash about twice a week, that way your feud is kept warm, building up the anticipation of your next match. Your wrestler doesn't have to tell his life story in a flash; a good flash can be anything from 5 lines to a couple of paragraphs, as long as he's saying something he thinks people should hear. Finally, RCW does not in any way condone vulgarity or profanity in flashes. Please censor your flashes (i.e., "When I get you in that ring, I'm gonna stomp the #!@&* out of you!"). If you fail to do so, you will be penalized. The first violation will result in a two week suspension of your wrestler (if he is a champion, he will be stripped of his title!). The second violation will result in your wrestler's termination from RCW. We're serious about this, guys. Let's keep it clean!

  5. Stables

  6. I understand and fully believe that it always helps to have someone watch your back. If you'd like to start a stable, just e-mail the Executive Board so that we can make the proper documentation. However, we're limiting the number of stables to four with a 4-member minimum and a 6-member maximum.

  7. Championships

  8. Here it is, the reason you lace up your boots and step into the ring: the championships. There are four singles titles available (World, North American, United States, Cruiserweight), and one tag team title (World Tag Team).
A wrestler may hold only one title at a time, singles or tag team. If one wrestler wins two singles titles, a tournament will be held for the forfeited championship. If a wrestler has a singles title and is a member of the World Tag Team Champions, the singles title will be forfeited, and a tournament will be held to fill the vacant championship.

  9. Title Defenses

  10. Each champion must defend his/their respective title in a certain amount of time in order to avoid stagnant championships.
World Champion: at least once every three weeks; may be challenged by anyone ranked in the top 5, but may defend against whomever in the top 5 he chooses.
North American Champion: at least once every two weeks; automatic #1 contender for World Championship; may be challenged by anyone in the top 10, but may defend against whomever in the top 10 he chooses.
United States Champion: at least once a week; may be challenged by anyone in RCW (excluding champions); the challenger must be in the top ten or have won his last match by pin or submission (jobber matches do not count). The United States Champion may defend against any eligible challenger he chooses.
Cruiserweight Champion: at least once every two weeks; may be challenged by any of the top five contenders, but may defend against whomever in the top five he chooses.
World Tag Team Champions: at least once every two weeks; may be challenged by any team in the top 5, but may defend against whomever in the top 5 they choose.

NOTE: It is the champion's reponsibility to inform the Executive Board as to who he/they choose to defend against. If no decision is submitted, the title will be considered forfeited!

  11. Scheduling

  12. Before you can win titles, you have to win matches, and in order to do that, you have to schedule yourself to appear on a card.

RCW posts two cards per week:
RCW Rage: This show will air on Tuesdays, and will usually carry 4 or 5 matches. This is where newcomers and mid-carders get their most critical exposure. Think of RCW Rage as a WCW Saturday Night or WWF Sunday Night Heat.
Friday Night Fury: This show will air on Fridays. Friday Night Fury is the main show of the week and will have 5 to 7 matches. This show is mostly for higher profile talent; veterans and main eventers. If you're looking to get more air time, start on Rage and work your way up to Fury. Friday Night Fury is equal to the WWF's RAW or WCW Monday Nitro.

You can get your wrestler on one of these shows in one of two ways. First, you can challenge the wrestler you want to face by posting a message on our messageboard. If he accepts your challenge, one (or both) of you must contact the Executive Board and schedule the match for whatever card on which the match will appear. For example, if Bumpo challenged Curtis Clueless, and Curtis accepted, then Bumpo will mail the Executive Board saying that he will face Curtis Clueless on RCW Rage. The second way to schedule a match is the direct request. You can e-mail the Executive Board a request for a match without challenging your opponent. Because this method detracts from the drama and excitement of roleplaying, we will only accept one direct request per card.

When e-mailing the Executive Board, in the Subject field, specify which show you're scheduling for (Rage or Fury), then give us the date you scheduling for (mm-dd). For example, if Bumpo wanted to book his match against Curtis Clueless for next Tuesday's RCW Rage, he would type "Rage, [date of card]" in the Subject field; if he wanted the match for Fury, "Fury, [date of card]." We hope this will help everyone get the matches they want, when they want them.

    Again, the format is:
for RCW Rage, "Rage, [date of card]"
for Friday Night Fury, "Fury, [date of card]"
for a pay-per-view event, "[PPV Title], [date of card]"

Finally, in the event of a lack of matches for a particular card, the Executive Board may have to do some "rush scheduling," that is, we may have to grab whatever wrestlers are available in order to fill the card. This rush scheduling may result in your wrestler being matched up against someone he normally wouldn't face (although we do our best to book the best possible matchups, sometimes we may be shorthanded, and forced to use who we have). Having said that, the best way to avoid a situation such as this is to get your wrestler scheduled early and avoid the "rush."

  15. Absences and Departure

  16. We at Royal Championship Wrestling are more than aware of the tendency for $#!+ to happen; sometimes things come up and affect your schedule. For those of you who have been with us for a while, you know that whenever we are late with a broadcast, we try to let you know why. So if it looks like you won't be able to participate for a while, we'd appreciate it if you let us know. Granted, this isn't work or school; you are in no way obligated to tell us where you're going and what you're doing, but if you know that you won't be able to get to a computer for a couple weeks, drop us a line so that we can work your wrestler's absence into the mix. Unexplained absences throw off our rhythm, and they lead the Executive Board to believe that you've quit RCW.

If for some reason you are or will be unable to participate, be sure to contact the Executive Board to let us know. Otherwise, if you don't show up or make contact with the Board for any period of time beyond two weeks, you will be placed on one-week notice. Once on notice, you will have one week to contact the Executive Board concerning your wrestler's status. If we do not receive word from you in a week, your wrestler will be suspended. If he is ranked, he will be removed from the rankings. Your wrestler will remain suspended until 1) we hear from you, or 2) one month passes, at which time the wrestler will be terminated.

If you contact us in an effort to reactivate your wrestler, he will start in a lesser position than he previously held. If the wrestler was ranked, he will receive a ranking score two points less than the lowest ranked wrestler in his division. If he was not ranked, his ranking score will be cut in half. In the case of repeat violators, all reactivation will begin at zero points. (FYI: if you don't have a copy of the Scoring and Rankings Analysis, get one. If you have one, be sure it's the latest edition.)

If at any time, you are unhappy here in RCW, we invite you to contact the Executive Board with your concern. If we can't work it out collectively, or if you would rather not discuss it, and you feel that the only fitting recourse is to leave RCW, we ask simply that you send us a message saying that you are resigning from active participation and you would like your wrestler deleted from the roster. That way both of us are clear on your wrestler's standing.

That's about it. Other than that, all we ask is that you have a good time!
