Ole Roadtrip Traditions

Turtle Bars

1.5 cups flour
1.5 cups brown sugar
1.5 cups oatmeal
1 cup melted butter
0.5 tsp salt
0.75 tsp baking soda
1 jar Richardson's Carmel Topping
6 oz (1/2 bag) Chocolate Chips

Instructions:
Mix above ingredients with fork. Pat half mixture in 9x12 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 deg. Meanwhile, put chocolate chips on top of first layer of mixture. Add half cup chopped nuts. Warm 1/2 of the carmel topping and slowly pour caramel over pan (no puddles). Pat remaining mixture on top. Bake 15 minutes at 350 deg.

Egg Bake - From Marge

8 pieces of bread
3 cups diced ham (or sausage)
1 cup onion
8 slices of American Cheese
5 eggs
2 cups milk
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)

Instructions:
Butter 5 pieces of bread. Lay face down in the bottom of a 8x13 pan. Add diced ham and onion. Add a layer of American Cheese slices. Beat eggs and milk. Pour egg mixture over bread. Take remaining 3 slices of bread and cube. Add to top of mixture. Melt butter and pour over top. Sprinkle with paprika if desired. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes (middle of oven)Can be made a day ahead.
