This page was inspired by a friend who didn't know
who to talk to and turned to me for advice.

This is a special place for kids and teens who

may need help and don't know what to do

or where to get help.

I would like to start this off by letting all you kids

know that here is a very good link to a

page in Geocities that will help kids BEE SAFE on the net!

I checked out some of the site, and it seems like

a really cool place with good tips for kids.

For any of you out there who might be holding inside the pain of

being an abused child, the following link will provide

you with some useful information on getting help

1-800-4-A-Child

Also, if you are not an abused child but know someone

who is, you can call this number anonymously and

get help for the abused child.

Some important words on sexual abuse...

Every child is vulnerable to sexual abuse.

Research indicates that as many as one out of every four children

>will be the victim of sexual abuse. Very young children as

well as older teenagers are victimized.

Almost all of these children will be

abused by someone they know and trust:

a relative, family friend or caretaker.

Sexual abuse can be physical, verbal or emotional. To

learn more, click here.

If you are an adult, and you feel the urge

to abuse or misuse your child, please, please

pick up the phone before you pick up your

hands to your children and call

Parents Anonymous

This next link is for an organization that

gives many children the opportunity

to live a better life.

Please take a moment to browse through

their site and do whatever you can to help out,

should you feel so inclined.

For some of the older "kids", if you've made the mistake

of running away because you are unhappy at home or

>if you are a runaway and you have changed your mind, the

following numbers may be of use to

you some day...

The National Runaway Hotline

1-800-231-6946

National Runaway Switchboard

1-800-621-4000

If you are a runaway who has changed your mind

and want to go home, Greyhound

provides a "free ride home".

And. . . a word or two about alcoholism . . .

If you are living with an alcoholic,

you can see what it is doing to them,

but can you see what it is doing to you?

1-800-821-4357

Ala-teen and Ala-tot

are part of the Al-Anon Family Groups

that help children of alcoholics

with the pain of living with or having

had lived with someone

who has a drinking problem.

Alcoholism affects us all.

Here is a good link, also in

Geocities that speaks to kids about alcohol and drug abuse.

It says more than I can say, and probably in

a much better way. So please, take a moment

if you are a kid, to take a look at this site.
