IRVING -- The Cowboys lost their third free agent this off-season when guard John Flannery signed a two-year deal with the St. Louis Rams yesterday.

The 6-foot-4, 304-pound Flannery, 29, will get $1,175,000.

A former second-round draft choice by the Oilers in 1991, Flannery started four games for the Cowboys last season. He has a total of 31 career starts in 64 games and missed the 1993 and 1995 seasons with knee injuries.

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones could not be reached for comment.

The Cowboys likely offset the loss of Flannery, who backed up at guard and center, when they signed former Canadian Football League player Mike Kiselak (6-3, 300), who also plays guard and center.

Flannery joins guard George Hegamin (Philadelphia Eagles) and safety Brock Marion (Miami Dolphins) as players leaving the Cowboys via free agency after the 1997 season.
