Kirin Lager is something I picked up on January 23 at some deli on Veterans Highway in Hauppauge, N.Y. This caught my eye because it comes in a large bottle (21.4 ounce). And of course, always a plus, it has a stroy on the side: "A mythical beast that is half deer and half dragon, the Kirin heralds good fortune. And great beer since 1888. The brewery was founded in Japan by an American entreprenuer and a German brewmaster. Today, the master brewers of Kirin faithfully create this premium lager from an original recipe. One of the world's favorite beers, its distinctive, full-bodied richness comes from low temperature fermentation, and extended cellar aging."
By the way, apparently it is now brewed in Los Angeles by Anheuser-Busch, Inc. 1
