Experienced and enthusiastic computer graphics specialist of six years with a strong PC background pursues a full-time Graphic illustrator position for a solid company that will challenge my experiences while allowing me to grow in knowledge and creativity.

Prior Employment

Position: Freelance Computer Graphic Specialist

Duties: Performs design, layout, and printing of items such as business cards, stationary, flyers, and presentation materials.

Highlights: Designed business related materials for various companies on a freelance basis. Created high quality, 3D rendered graphics using Corel Dream 3D for a role-playing game being created together with my husband. During this time my primary objective has been working as a full time home maker for my husband and three young children!

 

May. 1992 - Mar. 1995: US Air Force/3rd Communications Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska

Position: Computer graphics specialist/visual information specialist, manager of VTC(Video Teleconference Center), photo lab technician.

Duties: Support the Alaskan Command, Eleventh Air Force, 3rd Wing, and associate units within the Alaskan theater. Responsible for the production of viewgraphs, transparencies, 35mm slides, camera-ready art, reproduction masters, charts, posters, displays, nameplates, certificates, hand calligraphy, and electronic images for base and national level dissemination.

Additional duties: Set-up and operation of the VTC, Clip Art Monitor, Booster club representative (volunteered and assisted in a number of squadron activities).

Highlights: Sole person responsible for running the VTC for the Alaskan Command's communication to the Pacific Air Forces. Designed a book cover that played a key role in the book winning Air Force Book of the year-1993. Created videoshow using Harvard Graphics and Corel Draw to aid in the training of safe operation of destructive devices. Volunteered to work in the base photo lab for a time when they were severely undermanned using Noritzu machines to do C-41 processing print film, E-6 processing slide film, both manual and mechanical mounting, and in charge of their customer service. Nicknamed "Queen of Creative Certificates".

 

Technical Training

Apr. 1994 - July 1994: Photo lab training: Develop slides, manual and mechanical mounting of slides, develop prints, and customer service station.

Jan. 1994 - Feb. 1994: VTC Training: Start-up, running, and shut down of machinery; Maintenance of records and changing of magnetic media.

May 1992 - Nov. 1992: Advance Training: Prepare art work sketches, charts and layouts for publications, presentations, displays, visual information production, and medical graphic representations. Operation of visual information equipment; assist in preparing and using visual information aids and audio and video recordings.

Jan. 1992 - May 1992: Graphics Specialist Apprentice: Introduction to graphics, lettering, basic drawing, and perspective; Applying basic and illustrating techniques; reproduction methods and process; visual communication; and graphics imaging systems.
