Spain
Spain's sole Olympic Gold Medal prior to WW2 was won by the equestrian team of Garcia, Alvarez and Navarro who won the Prix des Nations on 12 August 1928, the final day of the Amsterdam Olympic Games.
It was to take 52 years before another Spanish athlete, Alejandro Abascal, would emulate this feat.
