Egypt
Egypt's first Olympic Champion was 22-year old weightlifter El Sayed Mohammed Nosseir, who won the light-heavyweight contest at Amsterdam on 29 July 1928, setting a new world record in the process.
Egypt has won four Gold medals prior to WW2, two each in 1928 and 1936.
