Cuba

Cuba's first Olympic Champion prior to WW2 was fencer Ramón Fonst, who achieved his first of 4 Gold medals on 14 June 1900 when he was just 16 years old, winning the Individual Épée and placing second in the Épée for Amateurs and Masters (in which 7 professionals took part).

Four years later at St. Louis, he won both the individual Épée and Foil events and jointly with Manuel Diaz and American Albertson Van Zo Post won the Team Foil event as well.

These two fencers between them won all of Cuba's 6 Gold medals prior to WW2.
