climb into the ring in an attempt to knock some A Leaguers off their lofty perches!

Interview with Lucille Perkins:
Norm Grisham: Hello, people! I'm "Noseless" Norm Grisham, and-
Lucille Perkins: Hold on a second. "Noseless" Norm? Come on! That's a blatant ripoff!
You're not even lacking a nose!
Norm Grisham: Um...uh...of course I am! Luckily, you're in front of the camera, and I'm behind, so no one has to see the horrible birth defect with which I've been cursed! Anyway, as you've all guessed by now, I'm here with the fiesty B League sensation, Lucille Perkins! Lucille, let me just say that if there's anyone here that's "lucky", it's me! Hubba hubba!
Lucille Perkins: (rolling her eyes) Yeah, thanks, Norm.
Norm Grisham: So, you're in this A-B tournament thingy, right?
Lucille Perkins: Tournament thingy. Uh huh.
Norm Grisham: Yeah. So, what's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Lucille Perkins: What? What kind of question is that? This is about the A-B tournament!
I didn't call you here to get a personal bio!
Norm Grisham: Oh. Sorry. Okay, then...what about your matches so far?
Lucille Perkins: That's better.
Well, it's been a really tough ride in the tourney so far. But, that's
what I expected. Each of my fights has been fantastic. Still, it hasn't all been roses and strawberries.
Krissy was a difficult opponent to start against. I fought a good fight,
and managed to open her up from the eye and the nose, but she really held
me off. Every time I scored, she scored back. Then, she showed me some
real power, and knocked me for a loop a couple of times. Those two knockdowns
were what kept me out of contention. The first round loss was a little bit
of a sting, but it was close. So, I kept a positive attitude, even though I
was a little unsure of what I'd gotten myself into.
Then I faced Terri. I got off to a rough start, and that kinda gave me a
fright. I was very concerned about staying in the match. Still, I stung
Terri back, drawing first blood. We traded knockdowns a couple of times,
and swollen eyes too. Then, I landed a few on the right side of her face,
and got her swollen there too. She never backed down, of course, and it
was fierce right up until the end. To tell you the truth, I was really
unsure about how that match would end. The spread was close. I thought
it was too close. I really began to question whether I was ready to
handle these ladies or not.
And then there was Shanna. I got off to a good start, staggering her
early. It was a close second round, but in the third, I really got a
scare. I thought I had the round in control when I put Shanna down for
six, but then she came back with that *huge* body shot to drop me for nine.
I felt my heart in my throat there for a second. It's funny, that. I always
got the impression that you'd be knocked senseless after a shot like that
one, but not me. I could think very clearly. It was my body that wouldn't
respond right away. Then, I came back in the fourth with a short knockdown,
and followed that up with one in the fifth, along with a shiner. It helped to
swing the tide in my favor. Shanna kept up the fight, though, so I had to
work for it. We had a close sixth and seventh round, but I think I took the
eighth with some good, solid ring work. Rounds nine and ten were pretty
even, and the final verdict was close. Still, I came out with the win, and
finally I felt I was really on equal footing with the A League ladies. But
that was nothing compared to round four.
Sonia was one mean mother. Well, I don't know if she has kids, but she's
mean.
(grins)
The first round was close. The second round, she nailed me good. I got her
back with a few near the end, but I was the one who walked away with the
cut lip. Round three was pretty much even, but in round four I took over.
That was among the best rounds I've ever fought, especially considering who
I was up against. The shiner and the cut were really good, but I feel that
the way I controlled Sonia that round was the most important thing. Round
five was close, and then Sonia showed a little of her own dominance in the
sixth. In round seven, she worked over the side of my face very well, and
I started to feel that concern growing in me again. Should I have waited,
to see if I was ready? Round eight was a mixed bag. I gave Sonia some
nasty shots, but still, I was on the ropes and hurt pretty badly. Then, it
happened. The ninth round. Sonia got a couple of stiff punches in on me,
but not before I cut her above the left eye. I thought I was in good shape
to finish, and then the opportunity presented itself. I got the left cross
in there to open things up, and a hook to keep her guessing. Then, I landed
the ol' one-two, and pow! Knockout! It was one of the best victories I've
ever gotten. This is a woman who stopped Chi-Chi Venezia. Got a TKO!
Chi-Chi's tough on any given day, but she'd been tatooing people left and
right in the A-B tourney up to that point. I tell you, to be able to get
a win over a competitor like that...and a knockout, no less! It was a
great feeling.
Norm Grisham: Great! Lucille...could I have an autograph?
Lucille Perkins: What?! No! This is an interivew I'm trying to conduct here!
Norm Grisham: Aw...please?
Lucille Perkins: Later! Next question!
Norm Grisham: Oh, alright. What do you think about the rest of the tournament?
Lucille Perkins: You don't have a lot of imagination, do you?
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the tournament. Many
of the fights have been very competitive, and all of them have been exciting
spectacles. I've got a couple of A Leaguers still left to face, and I know
those fights will fantastic if they're anything like those I've already been
in. I'm definitely still in the top eight, and it really looks to me like
I'll be heading for the A League in a week or two. It brings mixed feelings
to me. I'm very happy I'm doing so well, but there's so much I wanted to do
in the B League. It looks like I will be moving up with some champions, and
I'm sure that leaves them a little confused too. They were probably hoping
for long title reigns, and I know I was hoping to hold that Welterweight belt
some day. Still, it'll be a great step forward.
Norm Grisham: Oh good. Lucille...are you wearing panties right now?
Lucille Perkins: Get away from me, you pathetic little pervert! I'll knock your block off!
Norm Grisham: Yes! Please, Lucille, beat me! I'm a dog! I'm pond scum! Shackle my
wrists! Let me feel the sweet sting of your whip on my bottom!
(A small gang of cops run in, and pounce on Grisham. The camera hits the
ground, and a parade of feet sweep across the frame.)
Officer's Voice: Gotcha, you sicko! Thought you could pose as a WEBA employee, and take
advantage of this young lady, did you?! Haul his carcass downtown, boys! Sorry for your trouble, Ms. Perkins.
Lucille's Voice: Uh, no problem. Just one question. What happened to the *real* camera
guy?
(Lucille's feet can be seen walking across the picture, and the sound
of her footsteps soon fade away. Then, a muffled cry.)
[????????]
Mmph! Mmph!!! MMMPH!!!
(Slowly, a man's head slides onto the screen. His face is sideways, as
though he is lying on the floor. His mouth is gagged, and his eyes are
wide open. He rubs the gag along the floor, and it finally slides off.)
Man: Hey! I'm supposed to interview Lucille Perkins! Somebody help me here!
Help me! Heeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeee!
(fade to black)
Interview with Shanna Tyee:
Echo Johnson: We're here in the dressing room of Shanna Tyee who is going to be in the WEBA B-League. So, Miss Tyee, how does it feel to be in the B-League?
Shanna: (looking clearly disgusted) How do you think it feels? Feels like crap..ain't no other way to say it. I've been stinking up the place lately.
Echo: (smirking) Stinking up the place is an understatement. I think you lost every fight you were in by KO didn't you?
Shanna: Just about. I have to make some serious changes. I've had a philsophy change and it hasn't worked. My trainers have been alseep at the wheel. I don't plan on going out like Angie Page. I'm not gonna be the doorstep of either league. I'm looking to hire new trainers, managers and promoters.
Echo: Do you really expect that to change your fortunes? C'mon girl, you stink? I mean, really, really stink.
Shanna: Well if it doesn't work, I could always take your job (looking at Echo menacingly)
Echo: www, well...that,that's not what I meant....
Shanna: Forget it. Let's just say that the Sluggin Sistah is going to do some serious training and rededication to her craft. I'm gonna be better. I'm gonna clean up my record. I'm gonna be the top fighter in the B-League and I'll be back in the A-League again. Lord knows they need some lightweights up there...so many big girls up there.
Echo: Well, it seems as if Ms Tyee is at a crossroads. Who knows if this tournament will make her better or completely break her spirit. Stay tuned folks !
